Robbins, Many Raphael Tuck's, Bullard, Sheahan's, Barnes, Oilette, Schmidt, 9 squeeky cards, Germany, Cobbs, Colby, Maguire, MB, Dahmstadt, F & W, Adam, H.C. Westerhouse, R.L. Wells, Saxony, Blum, Thiele and several signatures are so small I can't make out what they say. One card is made of leather. These cards range from great condition to poor. THIS AUCTION IS FOR A VINTAGE UNUSED MAINZER, INC. POSTCARD WITH CUTE ANTHROPOMORPHIC CATS AS CIRCUS PERFORMERS. THE ARTIST OF THESE MAINZER CAT POSTCARDS IS EUGEN HARTUNG. I BELIEVE THE POSTCARD IS FROM THE 1960'S. THIS IS PRINTED ON THE BACK OF IT: "ALFRED MAINZER, 118 EAST 28TH ST., NEW YORK 16, N.Y." - "IMPRIME EN SUISSE - PRINTED IN SWITZERLAND" - "NO 4702 EDITION MAX KUNZLI ZURICH 6". THIS TYPE OF POSTCARD WAS KNOWN AS THE HUMOROUS DRESSED CATS POSTCARD OR MAINZER DRESSED CATS POSTCARD. THEY WERE ORIGINALLY PUBLISHED FROM THE 1940'S THROUGH THE 1960'S BY ALFRED MAINZER INC. IN NEW YORK CITY. THE EARLY POSTCARDS HAD A ROUGH FINISH, BRILLIANT COLORS, AND SCALLOPED EDGES. THEY WERE PRINTED IN SWITZERLAND, BELGIUM, TURKEY, THAILAND, AND SPAIN. AN ADDITIONAL SERIES OF MAINZER DRESSED CATS WERE PUBLISHED AS THE "KUNZI EDITION" WHICH APPEAR TO BE SET IN OLDER EUROPEAN SETTINGS. THE ARTIST WAS EUGEN HARTUNG WHO LIVED FROM 1897 TO 1973.
