I can’t say for sure if all of these photos are from South Dakota but the dealer said they came from one particular family estate in South Dakota so I’m assuming they are. There are 13 all together and all are photo postcards from the early 1900’s. Only one of them is postally used and that’s the one showing down town Wagner South Dakota in 1909. It is addressed to Alpha Martinson in Platte South Dakota. There is a sign in the background of this photo that says “Depot Hotel”. There are several very nice historical photos in this lot. One of them shows a Wagner motorcycle. http://www.motorbyte.com/mmm/pages/mchistory/mchistory4_98.htm Then there is a great photo of another downtown scene with several old cars lined up. I’m not sure which town this is but I can read several signs. One says “Dairy Lunch”, one says “The Lanpher” and then there is a billiards sign. There are other signs but I can’t quite make them out. Then there is a wonderful photo of a man and his horse and wagon, a medicine wagon of sorts. The side of the wagon says “Importers-The Rawleigh Co. Chemists. Rawleigh’s Remedies ____spices____. Stock and Poultry Preparations.” Finally the photo of the inside of a general store. It’s amazing to take a magnifying glass and look at all the goods. All but one of the postcards are in good shape. The photo of the two women with furs is torn on the front, as you can see in the scans above, other then that the rest look great. Wonderful lot that deserves further research.

You are bidding on two vintage black and white postcards from Winner, South Dakota. One is dated January 25, 1910 and the other says, "Bird's Eye View Lamro, S. D. March 1910.".. Lamro was the name of the town before it was moved to a different location and re-named Winner. Both postcards are in good condition, but one has a bend and both have light soiling especially on the backs. Neither has been used.
