We found this among estate items for a family member who was a longtime resident of Grafton.......the book includes a number of pages with removable postit notes attached to add genealogy or historical information...also, he has added notes in the columns of some pages to amplify history ( the family lived in Grafton and Taylor County for several generations and he was an attorney there, mainly Grafton, so knew a great deal about many families....there is a writeup on his family in the book...also, he wrote his name inside the front cover)....very light wear from handling and a very small spot on the spine as shown in my photo of same.....bindings are tight, all printing clear and bright .......the book was published in 1986 by the Taylor County Historical and Genealogical Society and this is book #757 of 1500.......I have posted 10 photos, however the photos cannot begin to capture the great history included in the 531 page volume......the Society did a wonderful job of gathering history and photographs from so many sources.......tiny communities, schools, disasters, fire departments, societies, Civil War soldiers, family histories, National cemetery, gravemarkers, railroads, professionals, baseball in the county, etc........literally a treasure for anybody interested in Taylor County......the book has never been on the market and always kept in a nonsmoking environment.......please ask questions.......thanks for your interest.....we use PayPal.....mailing is $ 9.50 (heavy book) and insurance is strongly suggested. (Note: this is the second and last book in the estate...the other copy was sold in March)

(Note: this is the second and last book in the estate...the other copy was sold in March)</p>

This unique and nicely detailed real photo postcard image shows the aftermath of a street car wreck in Fairmont, West Virginia that occured on Saturday, Jan. 20, 1912. Dozens of observers can be seen looking over the wreckage. Apparently it was a cold on the day of wreck as the people look to be bundled up in heavy coats. (I think I read somewhere one time that there was one person killed in the wreck.) The divided back postcard was postmarked from Fairmont, W. Va. on Jan. 23, 1912, a mere three days after the wreck. The postcard is generally in fair to good condition, but has moderate diagonal creases originating from both bottom corners &amp;amp; traveling toward or to the center of the view, small vertical creases at the bottom right corner, rounded corners, some scattered sm. stain spots towards the top right corner of the view side of the card, a small stain spot below the &amp;quot;t&amp;quot; of the &amp;quot;St. Car&amp;quot; white writing on the card, and age coloration/staining on the address side of the card. The postcard is one of several quality Fairmont postcards from my personal collection that I have been posting for sale on ebay over the past ten days. If you have any questions about the item or need additional pics, please feel free to email me well before the close of the auction. WV residents w/o a tax exemption number will need to include 6% sales tax on the total amount of sale. WV buyers using a Tax Exemption Number will need to include all of your information(business name, business owner, business address, &amp;amp; tax exemption number) in correspondence along with your payment. If purchasing multiple items, I can discount shipping &amp;amp; handling costs. Although the item(s) will be packed very well, I cannot personally guarantee that your item will not be lost or mangled by the U. S. Postal Service. If you desire insurance on your items, contact me for that additional shipping cost after the end of the auction. Good luck on the bidding!!
