Rare – Lot Of 17 Rppc Greenland Eskimos, Royal Visit Ca. 1921

This RPPC auction lot is comprised of 17 standard-size real photo postcards depicting Greenland Inuit Eskimos, a 1921 royal visit by King Christian X of Denmark, and some settlements and scenic vistas. All are postally unused with divided backs or lined address areas with no stamp space. Most have handwritten descriptive captions and a previous owner�s name handwritten on the back in vintage ink. None of these postcards are in very good condition and are worn and soiled with rounded corners and some light creases. More significant damage, like creases or tears that have cracked the emulsion, are noted below. Despite their many defects, the images are historically interesting. 1. Writing on back: �Greenland� and �Mrs Carl Zeiger.� One corner crease has cracked the emulsion. 11. Several ships at anchor. A couple of creases and a small hole have cracked the emulsion. 14. Crowd gathered outside building, numerous flags, and some officials.
